As a student at Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication Vivian is focusing on broadcast with a specialization on business journalism, and a minor in political science. She's earned her way into college by working hard, and the skills she's developed have strengthen not only her but her stellar goals that require extensive dedication and passion. She believes her purpose in life is to be a story teller.
Vivian has had the opportunity to work with CNN at a GOP presidential debate-- an opportunity she's been grateful for. Her most nerveracking moment has been when John King asked her and the other three ASU student stand-ins the questions he was going to be asking the GOP presidential candidates. She's also participated in the seven hour long Vote 2010 Town Hall with ABC News at The Cronkite School. She's attend the Fall 2012 SABEW Conference in New York City, 2012 UNITY Convention in Las Vegas and the 2012 ATPRA Academy in California. Her experience with both ABC and CNN as a collegiate student have been beautiful and life changing.
She has worked with Arizona staples like Governor Jan Brewer, Sheriff Joe Arpaio and has filmed former President Bill Clinton. Not only does she have a passion for those who make an impact on others, but also the ordinary with extraordinary stories.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her two poodles, taking photographs, and volunteering at the Chinese Senior Center in Phoenix. She's currently in her junior year at the Cronkite School, president of NAHJ-ASU, reporting for Cronkite News Service, reporting for Cronkite NewsWatch en Espanol, producing video packages, and freelancing for The Arizona Republic, East Valley Tribune, and Phoenix Business Journal.
Her ultimate dream is to report from New York City or Washington, D.C. specializing in political, international and business news. She's currently pursuing internships around the country.
